What is a giclee?
A giclee is a digital image of fine art printed on canvas or paper. In giclee printing, no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works.
However, it is not the same as a standard desktop inkjet printer, and is much larger. Giclee printers use special light-fast inks which, if kept out of the sun, will remain true for up to 25 years. Giclees of Davi’s paintings are printed from high quality, digitally photographed images of the artwork and on canvas. Even museums have realized the vast potential of this technology and have made giclee editions a permanent part of their collections.
Your museum quality print will arrive beautifully vivid and will not show signs of fading or wear for decades if cared for properly.
Giclees of the 16X20 oil paintings are priced at $350 plus tax. They are made to order, stretched, enhanced by hand by the artist if needed, and framed. They are signed on the back and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
